About the list

Ranked for who's in the room.

Karl Events maps a full season of tech, startup, and AI gatherings across San Francisco and the immediate Bay Area, from August 2026 through June 2027. Unlike a typical event list, it is tiered for customer and BD pipeline — not fundraising.

That distinction changes the ranking a lot. Events that dominate a normal SF calendar — demo days, most pitch nights — score low here, because their rooms are structurally founders, investors, and press. Several explicitly exclude buyers. What rises instead are vendor user-conferences, closed-door C-level summits, and corporate-matchmaking formats where actual purchasing happens.

The four tiers

Tier 1

Book it — dense buyer rooms, real pipeline. 22 events on the list.

Tier 2

Strong candidates worth a serious look. 50 events on the list.

Tier 3

Situational — go if the timing fits. 42 events on the list.

Tier 4

Know about it, but not demand-gen spend. 31 events on the list.

How scoring works

Each event carries six sub-scores rated 0–10 — buyer density, seniority, deal format, scale, AI relevance, and cost efficiency — which roll up into a weighted BD Score. Open any event to see the breakdown. The dataset is a point-in-time snapshot, so always confirm dates and access on the official event page before you commit budget.
